LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3) - — Kentucky State Police have confirmed to WAVE 3 News that a shell casing was found following a chaotic scuffle between an officer and a group of rowdy teenagers.
Video captured shows the chaos that led many to believe there had been a shooting. They believe that the shot may have been fired to incite panic.
KSP could only confirm there were witness reports of a single gunshot being fired in the air by a teen, but there was no mention of any evidence until Tuesday. They said other teens in the area were setting off fireworks to incite panic.
Officials arrested two adults and cited seven juveniles. Of the seven juveniles, KSP said none of their parents was actually at the fair.
A new policy that prohibits juveniles without an adult from entering the fair grounds after 6 p.m. will go into effect Wednesday.
