Gov. Beshear's State of the Commonwealth speech delayed

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Andy Beshear's 2021 State of the Commonwealth has been canceled amid the breach at the US Capitol. The speech has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.

"Based on the events at our nation’s Capitol, the Senate President, Speaker of the House and I have jointly agreed to delay the joint session for the State of the Commonwealth and the Budget address to 7 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 7. We all recognize the gravity of this situation," Gov. Beshear said in a press release.

Gov. Beshear's speech was originally scheduled for Wednesday night.
