FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — In three weeks, Andy Beshear will be the next governor of Kentucky. He said his transition and his inauguration will set the tone for the next four years, so what are the plans?

At the Capitol, preparations are already underway for Inauguration Day. The theme for Inauguration Day is "Team Kentucky."

Beshear is hoping for a good turnout, with lots of teachers and families from all over the Commonwealth filling up the risers.

On Tuesday, Beshear and the future First Lady of Kentucky, Britainy Beshear, announced that they want students to be involved in the day as well. The Beshears are holding an art contest where students ages 6-17 are asked to draw about teamwork and accomplishing a goal.

The winners will be invited to the Capitol.

"I want it to be a day where all Kentuckians can come together, where we can feel the type of hope that I'm feeling in moving forward, where we are led by a sea of teachers in that parade up to this Capitol, where we get an opportunity to recommit ourselves on serving Kentucky families before we serve any political party," said Beshear.
