DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A storage facility on the practice field of Danville High School was caught in flames after midnight Thursday morning. The officers arrived on the scene after the fire department and had found enough evidence to deem it as suspicious.

“There was also some graffiti done with it," said detective Paul Megilligan. "It makes us believe it was a criminal mischief with people trying to destroy property. We’re thinking it was done by some juveniles.”

The investigation is ongoing, but there are leads given from individuals at the scene this morning.

In addition to satanic messages, there was a name spray painted on the shed that was linked to a person, who according to his mother, was not in town

“We're trying to get a timeline on when it was spray painted," Megilligan said. "We’re looking into it, but right now we don’t think the name has anything to do with the arson itself.”

Officials with Danville Schools say patrols will be stepped up around the Danville High School area.
