LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Thousands showed up to Masterson Station Park on Sunday for the annual Fire Prevention and Wellness Festival.
On Sunday, firefighters had the chance to interact with the community, while also stressing the importance of knowing what to do in case of a fire.
The event was part of Fire Prevention Week, which ran from October 6 through Saturday, October 12.
"We realize that fire is still a very real threat to our community, so this is an opportunity that we can have fun, but also have an opportunity to educate families on fire safety and fire prevention," said Lexington Battalion Chief Jordan Saas.
The event also featured fire truck rides, games and live demonstrations.
