NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — US 27 was blocked as of Tuesday morning due to two vehicles hitting a pedestrian.
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday near Edgewood Drive.
Nicholasville Police have confirmed that there was a fatality and have identified the victim as Rashawn Isaiah Jackson, 22. Jackson died at the hospital, according to police.
Thoughts & prayers to the family of former Colt, Rashawn Jackson. Devastating news this morning to learn of a life taken too soon. A great family with lots of history in Jessamine County who will need our support.

Jackson died from multiple blunt force trauma at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A witness told LEX 18 that it looked like the light was green for the driver and that the pedestrian did not have the right of way.
Officials said that the pedestrian was hit by two cars, not just one. Police talked to both drivers and both said they did not see the victim.
The northbound lanes were blocked, but reopened around 9 a.m.
