(WPSD/LEX 18) — The trial of a man who has been accused of killing a 15-year-old girl has been delayed until March 2020, according to WPSD.
Tyler Jones was charged with murder and evidence tampering for the shooting at a party in June 2018.
Peyton Hurt was wounded and was pronounced dead the next day.
Kentucky State Police said that Jones used his grandfather's revolver to shoot Hurt.
On Wednesday, a judge ruled that Jones' public defender needs more time to examine the evidence because she was assigned to the case in February.
Jones is set to return to court in December.
