BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two people are dead after a shooting took place at O'Charley's in Bowling Green.

At 10:04 p.m. on Friday night, police received a call of shots fired in the parking lot of O'Charley's. Officers found Elijsha Taylor, 21, and Michael Russell, 40, each with a gunshot wound.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene and Russell was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries; Russell passed away Saturday morning.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department's Facebook page, one media outlet reported the shooting was a result of a fight over O'Charley's yeast rolls. However, BGPD says that report is false.

The vehicle related to the shooting returned to the scene shortly after police arrived.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the police department at 270-393-4000.
