LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — If you plan on driving around Lexington on Saturday, get ready for some traffic.

Around 2,000 University of Kentucky students will be moving in all day on Saturday and police will shut down some roads to accommodate them.

Saturday marks the first day of the three "assisted" move-in days that have been planned. Families will get some help unloading their cars and they'll have the ability to check out carts. That also means that UK Police will conduct traffic control operations.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Avenue of Champions will be shut down. Martin Luther King Boulevard will be southbound only to permitted move-in traffic between East Maxwell Street and Avenue of Champions.

Some other roads that will be affected are Lexington, Hilltop and Woodland Avenues.

The next "assisted" move-in days have been scheduled for August 19 and August 21.

All other move-in days are unassisted, meaning there will be no traffic control.
