LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Road conditions in Lexington are slick and hazardous Thursday morning.

Between 5 and 7 a.m. Thursday, the duty commander says they have responded to nine non-injury crashes, seven injury crashes, and five traffic hazards. Police reported 18 non-injury collisions between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The city of Lexington said road crews worked through the night to treat icy bridges, overpasses, and hills.

The duty commander warns of frozen ramps and overpasses. It is advised not to be out on the roads if you don't have to be. If you do go out, it is advised to use extreme caution, slow down, and increase following distances.

Police had shut down the Georgetown Rd between Kearney Rd and Iron Works Pike in both directions to allow salt trucks to treat the roadway, but it is reopened at this time.

The inner loop of New Circle Road at Versailles Road was reportedly shutdown due to icy conditions, but is back open at this time.

I-75N at the southern split is back open at this time.

Georgetown Road at New Circle Road is back open as of 9:10 a.m. Thursday.
