LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Woodford County man has been indicted after police said that the man was raping a teenager.
David Orlando Vega is charged with three counts of second-degree rape and one count of third-degree rape. The victim's 19-year-old sister originally wanted to file charges, but declined in pursuing charges, stating it was consensual. The indictment states that Vega would often babysit the 13-year-old and her younger sibling.
The first reported incident occurred in the summer of 2015. The assaults continued, police said, until earlier this year.
The indictment said Vega admitted to knowing that the victim was underage. He also admitted that he was in a sexual relationship with the victim's older sister.
The sister of the victim reached out to LEX 18 and said the statements in the indictment are untrue. She said she is in a consensual relationship with Vega.
