Warm winter weather not bothering most in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Friday, Dec. 27 marks the fourth day in a row where temperatures have reached over 60 degrees in Lexington.

This means that many people have been outside taking advantage of the Spring-like temperatures.

Billy Dawson, an employee of Triangle Park's ice rink, said that when temperatures go up, so does attendance.

"With the warm weather, we get more people because they bring the kids out," said Dawson. "They won't bring the kids out when the weather is cold."

We also visited Tates Creek Golf Course where many people said playing golf in December was a special treat.

So, even though it wasn't a typical Christmas, weather-wise, no one seemed to mind.

"Normally in Kentucky, you know, it's cold, we don't get too many white Christmases. But it's cold, so having yesterday when I played golf 60-something degrees and 50-something today, it's pretty nice," said golfer Shawn Overbey.
