Warm and muggy with pop-up thundershowers today.

We are getting the new month start with a typical summertime forecast. Today will be warm and muggy with highs in the mid 80s under partly sunny skies. During the afternoon and early evening we can't rule out some pop-up thundershowers that could put down some heavy rain. Any activity will fizzle once the sun sets. Then we'll do it all over again tomorrow and Saturday. Late in the weekend there will be a slightly better chance for isolated storms, but overall still a good looking August day.

Like what you see? Near-normal temperatures will persist into next week despite this being the dog days of summer when we typically see a lot of heat and humid. There will be a slight bump in temperature on Monday and Tuesday. We'll run closer to 90 degrees both of those afternoons. As we all know during these upcoming warm and muggy afternoons a stray storm is possible, but there will be more dry than unsettled time over the next eight days.
