JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person was pronounced dead and four others were taken to the hospital following a crash in Jessamine County.
Jessamine County sheriff's deputies said two cars were involved in the wreck on US 68 at the intersection with KY 29 in Wilmore.
Deputies said an SUV was trying to merge onto 29 when it collided with a car that was going the opposite direction on 68.
LEX 18 was told one person was killed while four others were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One additional person was reportedly not hurt.
Investigators believe speed, weather and inattention were factors in the crash.
The name of the person who died has not been released.
Two lanes were closed for hours while crews worked to clean up and investigate the wreck.
