Overnight fire damages home in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Part of a home in Lexington has significant damage after catching fire this morning.

The call came in at about ten last night from the 2200-block of Bahama Road near the intersection with Winchester Road. Officials say one person was home when the fire broke out, but they were able to get out safely.

Firefighters arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze, but the back of the home was heavily damaged. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
