LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Every inch of Alltech Arena in Lexington was packed this weekend for the annual Bluegrass Classic Dog Show.
More than 1,600 dogs of more than 140 varieties came out to compete in a variety of events, with each one striving to meet that standard of perfection.
After getting pampered for hours and performing in front of the judges, the good boys and girls get to go for a little doggy paddle, during the dock dining event.
Organizers say the weekend is the perfect opportunity for families to come out, talk to breeders and figure out what type of dog would fit into their home.
The show has been a staple in Lexington for the last 60 or so years. The event kicked off Thursday and lasts through Monday night.
