PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (MTN) — A Pike County attorney is facing charges of stealing more than $800K from his clients.

According to Mountain Top News, a Grand Jury indicted Timothy Belcher on felony theft charges. Pike Commonwealth’s Attorney Bill Slone says the money in question was awarded to Belcher’s clients following a tragic car accident in 2001.

Slone told Mountain Top News the theft was recently discovered when one of the children, who is now an adult, tried to contact Belcher to access the funds that belong to her. Timothy Belcher will be arraigned in Pike Circuit Court on August 16th. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
