SOMERSET (LEX 18/COMMONWEALTH JOURNAL) — On Monday, Kentucky State Police were notified about a shooting that had occurred at a residence in Somerset, Kentucky.
The shooting happened at a residence on Starlite Drive in Somerset. Police were called to the residence around 4 p.m. on Monday.
When police arrived, they found that Devin Griffith, 24, had been shot by Jason Griffith, 47. Both men are from Somerset. Jason Griffith is a Somerset Police Sergeant.
According to the Commonwealth Journal, KSP Trooper Lloyd Cochran said that the confrontation was between father and son. Cochran also said that Devin Griffith did not live where the incident occurred.
The shooting was the result of a domestic dispute altercation that had taken place at Jason Griffith's home, according to police.
Cochran said Devin Griffith was not believed to be armed, according to the Commonwealth Journal.
Devin Griffith was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and is being treated for injuries. According to police, he is stable as of Tuesday afternoon.
The investigation will be presented to the Pulaski County Grand Jury.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests had been made. Jason Griffith has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of KSP investigation.
