HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A body was found at an abandoned home this past weekend in Harlan County.
Kentucky State Police said the home was abandoned for about six years, but the owner was cleaning up the property on Friday when he noticed the basement door had been messed with.
According to KSP, the body found appears to fit the description of a missing person case that Harlan police have been working since December 2018.
Due to decomposition, KSP said identifying the victim and an autopsy may take some time.
