Police: Man arraigned on murder charges after hitting 2 men on a golf cart

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The man accused of driving drunk and hitting two men on a golf cart near Seneca Park in Louisville on Sunday has been arraigned on murder charges.

Police said Lazaro Pozzo Illas' blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit when the crash happened on Pee Wee Reese Road.

Chris Schulz was killed and another man was seriously hurt.

Schulz is being remembered as a dedicated family man and coach.

Schulz was the boy's athletic director at Saint Albert The Great Catholic School.

The area where the crash happened has golf cart warning signs, crosswalk markers and a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour.
