LONDON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man was arrested in London, Kentucky after police were called about a possible drunk driver.
Brian Smith, 44, was arrested on Friday around 8:30 p.m. on Old Whitley Road in London.
Police said that Smith crossed the line 12 times and almost hit 2 vehicles. Smith was also traveling up to 20 miles per hour over the speed limit.
After stopping the vehicle, Smith was found under the influence and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Smith was charged with:
- Speeding 20 miles per hour over the limit
- Failure to wear a seat belt
- Failure to produce an insurance card
- No registration
- Reckless driving
- Possession of marijuana
- Operating a moving vehicle under the influence
