Police: Man arrested after taking family against their will to North Carolina

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Tuesday, police were told that a woman and her two children were taken out of their residence on Ridge View Drive at gun point by the woman's husband.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Department, Deputy Sam Mullins was contacted by a woman who claimed that her husband, Aaron Dees, took her and her two children out of their home on Saturday and drove them to Jackson Springs, North Carolina.

The woman also told police that Dees threatened to shoot her and her children if they tried to get help. The victim got away from her husband in North Carolina and returned to Gray, Kentucky.

Mullins obtained an arrest warrant after his investigation.

Mullins and Deputy Mikey Ashurst located and arrested Dees, 24, at a residence in London, Kentucky.

Dees has been charged with kidnapping and wanton endangerment in the first degree. Dees was taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
