Man accused in shooting turns himself in

MT. STERLING, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Mt. Sterling Police Department says that a man accused in a shooting outside of People's Choice Bar has turned himself in.

The incident happened on July 14.

According to police, James Jones allegedly fired two to three shots and one hit the victim in the arm and lodged itself in his chest.

The victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital before being taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital. As of Monday, the victim has been discharged. The victim is also expected to make a full recovery.

Jones was transferred to the Montgomery County Jail.
