Police searching for missing Monticello man

MONTICELLO, Ky. — Sheriff's officials are asking for the public's help in searching for a missing Wayne County man.

According to a release from the sheriff's department, Jerry D. Rainwater was last seen on June 29 at his home on Ky HWY 90 at approximately 9 a.m. He was possibly driving a silver Dodge Town and Country mini-van.

Rainwater had told someone he was going to either the VA in Lexington or possibly to the Georgia/Florida state line area to buy an RV. He was carrying a considerable amount of cash.

Rainwater is 67, stands 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has gray hair, brown eyes and walks with a limp.

No evidence of foul play had been discovered but he has not used his phone or bank accounts.

Sheriff's officials have had two reported sightings of Rainwater on July 2. It was also reported that he may have been last seen with two individuals, Joey Hall and James Dishman. Police have not been able to find either of those individuals either.
