The rain is finally here! Scattered to widespread showers have filtered into the region thanks to the cold front sliding through. There are some pockets of heavy rain, but for now, flooding is minimal. Thanks to cloud coverage and rain, temperatures are about 15 degrees cooler than this time yesterday, checking in around 70 degrees.

As we continue into the overnight hours, rain will become more widespread. This is the front arriving and passing us. Showers will get heavy at times, and a few rumbles of thunder are expected. No severe weather is expected with this cold front. Heavy rain for an extended period of time may lead to localized flood conditions. We’re still looking at 2-3 inches of rainfall through Monday afternoon. Watch for high water until Monday evening. The rain showers will move out mid-afternoon Monday for the Bluegrass, and late Monday for the southeastern counties. A cooler and more comfortable fall air mass takes over for early to midweek.
