Our weather is about to be turned upside down. A cold front will cross the Bluegrass today. Widespread rain will fill in this morning and linger through the afternoon. Rain could be moderate to heavy at times through the early afternoon. As the front crosses the rain will end from northwest to southeast. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. Highs will be near 50° this morning. By late-day we'll be sitting in the mid to upper 30s. On the very tail end of the rain early this evening a few snowflakes could mix in.

The week will end with a last of January with a low in the mid 20s and highs only in the upper 30s. This round of colder air won't stick around for long. Temperatures will rebound nicely this weekend with highs climbing through the 40s and close 60° by Sunday. Another shot of Arctic air is looming next week. We will watch rain change to snow Monday into Tuesday. A large air of Arctic air will be released through mid-week with the potential for record-setting cold temperatures.
