Arctic air pushes through the Bluegrass overnight. Temperatures will plummet from the 50s that we saw this afternoon to the 20s by morning. The wind will remain a factor as well. At best, Sunday will feel like the teens. temperatures will struggle to climb through the 20s, plus it stays breezy with sustained winds around 15 mph. That's a recipe for a bitterly cold day!
An Arctic high will establish itself across the Midwest, and eventually the Ohio Valley, to start the week. This will bring a re-enforcing blast of very cold air. Once the temperature drops below freezing it will stay there through at least Tuesday afternoon. Mornings temperatures in the lower teens will be brutal. The good news is the set-up means a good deal of sunshine in our future.
