Rescue crews save man stuck on ledge over Cumberland River

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad saved a man who was stuck on a ledge over the Cumberland River in Burnside.

The rescue squad posted on their Facebook page that the man was stuck on the ledge about 30 feet below a cliff on the north bank of the river.

The man was lowered about 100 feet down to the edge of the water, where was placed into a boat, according to the Facebook post.

Reportedly the man was checked out by an ambulance at Burnside Marina.

The Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad was assisted by members of the Burnside Volunteer Fire Department.

Rescue crews also wanted to thank the nearby fisherman who helped with the operation.
