Retired Lexington Police horse dies at 27

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Lexington Police Department announced the death of one of their retired police horses.

According to their Facebook page, Nomar recently died at the age of 27.

The post says that he served with the Lexington Police Mounted Unit for 16 years. All of those years with Officer Marty Parks was his partner.

Both of them retired in 2017.

In a video produced by the police department, Parks says he and Nomar won the National Mounted Police Equestrian Competition obstacle course in Toronto Canada in 2011.

Nomar lived out his days at Four Winds Farm.
