3 juveniles questioned in Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — Richmond police are investigating following an early morning shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

According to officials with the department, officers were called to the scene of a reported disturbance on North Hill Street just before 5 a.m. this morning. While conducting a search, police found a man with a gunshot wound.

"I thought I was dreaming cause ya know, at 4:30 in the morning you don't think something like that isn't happening. So I rolled over. Five minutes later I heard more hollering. So I came out, saw a man on my front lawn rolling around, hollering," said Reverend Virgil Gardner, who found the victim in his yard.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is listed as critical but stable. Officers are still on scene conducting their investigation. If you have information on the shooting, please contact Richmond Police at (859) 623-8911.
