Senator Mitch McConnell coming to Lexington to host hemp tour

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is scheduled to be in Lexington on Tuesday to host a hemp tour.

McConnell plans to discuss his hemp provisions laid out in the 2018 farm bill.

McConnell will take a tour of the University of Kentucky’s College of Agriculture Research and Teaching Farm.

United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles will be joining McConnell.

McConnel has spoken out about how legalizing industrial hemp will have a positive impact on Kentucky farmers.
