The wind has kicked up and scattered thundershowers have popped up this afternoon as a cold front nears the Bluegrass. A few of these storms may be on the strong side with wind gusts up to 50 mph. Activity will fizzle as it moves eastward towards sunset. Skies will clear and the wind will relax overnight. Patchy frost is possible again with lows ranging from the upper 20s to the upper 30s.
A fresh batch of unseasonably chilly air will blow in behind this evening's cold front. After the chilly start, highs will only be around 50° to get the week started. The saying goes "slow and steady wins the race." The same can be said for the high temperature trend this week. The thermometer will be pushing 80° by late week and into next weekend. It will finally feel like May should.
