The January rain is making a comeback. We've been watching showers gradually develop across southern Kentucky on the MaxTrack Live Doppler. The rain becomes widespread tonight. After a soggy start, showers will taper off Friday afternoon but not end completely. Rainfall amounts will be less than an inch.
As the low moves through the Great Lakes, colder air will wrap around on the backside. Rain and snow showers will be possible on Saturday. Northern Kentucky and the southeastern ridges will have the best chances for snow to stick. Any accumulations will be very light. The system will depart on Sunday, but we will be left with a chilly and cloudy day with a chance for a few flurries.
