Moisture is being sent back northward. We have already seen the clouds, some even a few showers. There's more rain heading our way which will make for a soggy start to the new work and school week. Widespread showers with embedded storms will arrive late tonight into the Monday morning commute. Areas near Lake Cumberland and across southern Kentucky will be the first to see the widespread showers. Rounds of showers and storms will roll through into Tuesday. Locally heavy rain will be possible, which may result in flash flooding. Rainfall amounts will vary with some areas seeing half an inch, while other could pick up close to an inch and a half of rain through late Tuesday. This will be beneficial rainfall for everyone. Once the rain exits Wednesday morning, we will see another preview of fall weather. Seasonably cool temperatures and lower humidity hang around into Labor Day weekend.
