SOMERSET, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Somerset police officer is on administrative leave after allegedly shooting his adult son.

Officials said the shooting happened Monday at a home on Starlite Drive.

Kentucky State Police said that troopers responding to the scene found 24-year-old Devin Griffith suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators later determined he had been shot by his father, 47-year-old Jason Griffith, during a fight.

Devin Griffith was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment. He was described as stable, but his condition was not immediately disclosed.

The Somerset Police Department placed Jason Griffith on administrative leave as KSP continues to investigate the shooting.
