CINCINNATI, Ohio. (FOX 19/Cincinnati.com) – According to FOX 19 in Cincinnati, the Bengals have shown the door to Coach Marvin Lewis.
The station reports that Lewis will not return for the 2019 season. Lewis had coached the team since January 2003.
The Cincinnati Enquirer states that the Coach told his staff today that he would be leaving. The website cited slumping ticket sales and a wavering fan base.
Lewis went 131-122-3 in 16 seasons with Cincinnati and 0-7 in the postseason.
The Bengals report that decision was mutually reached between the two parties.
