LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A sold-out crowd will be in attendance when the two winning-est programs in college basketball – Kentucky and Kansas – face off Saturday evening at Rupp Arena. Anticipating high demand and the heightened risk of counterfeit tickets reaching the market, UK Athletics has issued important reminders about ticket security and mobile ticketing for fans planning to attend.
UK Athletics urges fans to use caution against counterfeit tickets and unauthorized sellers. The following six sources are the only ones authorized to sell Kentucky men’s basketball tickets:
- The UK Ticket Office
- Ticketmaster and TicketExchange, the official secondary marketplace of UK Athletics
- ReplyBuy
- FEVO
- Visiting team ticket office
- Rupp Arena box office
Only tickets from those six sources are guaranteed to be valid. Fans who buy through any other source are at risk of receiving fraudulent or invalid tickets. That risk is magnified for sold-out games like Saturday’s. Fans with fraudulent or invalid tickets will not be granted entrance into Rupp Arena. If any of these tickets are discovered once inside, UK Athletics has the right to escort the ticket holder from the venue. Event staff personnel and ticket office staff may confiscate fraudulent tickets for law enforcement purposes.
UK Athletics works to prevent the sale of counterfeit tickets in collaboration with Ticketmaster. If fans encounter or suspect counterfeit ticket activity in the vicinity of Rupp Arena, they should contact UKPD at (859) 257-8573. If fans encounter or suspect counterfeit ticket activity online, they should contact the Lexington Police Department at (859) 258-3600. As a reminder, ticket scalping is illegal in the State of Kentucky per KRS 518.070.
TicketExchange by Ticketmaster is the only official and authorized resale platform for UK Athletics tickets. TicketExchange uses barcode verification technology to ensure ticket authenticity. Tickets for the Kansas game may be purchased through TicketExchange at this link.
Ticket holders should also be aware of the potential risks of posting pictures of their tickets, specifically the barcode, on the internet in any way. Always cover the barcode when posting pictures of tickets online, and avoid exposing personal information like your name, address or credit card information.
Finally, UK Athletics strongly encourages fans to familiarize themselves with how to access their tickets prior to arrival at Rupp Arena. To expedite entry and avert the risk of mobile tickets not loading due to limited connectivity at the arena , add your mobile tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay account prior to arriving at the venue. Print-at-home PDF tickets must be printed on a full 8.5”x11” sheet of paper prior to arriving for entry. Will Call and ticket resolution windows will be open at the Rupp Arena box office, located at the High Street entrance, for fans who have purchased directly from an authorized source.
