(NBA Insider) – Kentucky alum and current Wizards’ star John Wall will be out for a year due to surgery on a torn Achilles tendon.
NBA Insider’s Shams Charania broke the news via Twitter. He says that Wall suffered a fall in his home.
Wall had developed an infection in the incision from an initial surgery on Jan. 8 to repair a Haglund’s deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury. Basketball Insiders said that the rupture was diagnosed during a procedure to clean out the infection.
The procedure will be performed in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Wall is expected to return to full basketball activity around 12 months after the surgery, according to the report from Basketball Insiders.
