LEXINGTON- Ky- South Carolina was hot right out of the gate. The Gamecocks hit four of their first seven threes to give them a 24-22 lead before Kentucky ended the half on a 15-4 run. USC wouldn’t make a three for the rest of the game as Kentucky cruised to a 76-48 win.

The key match-up before the game was P.J. Washington and whether he could slow down one of the league’s best bigs in Chris Silva. The Gamecock forward owned the match-up last season scoring 27 and forcing Washington into foul trouble.

Tuesday night it was all Washington who led the way with 20 points. P.J. did miss out on his third straight double-double in this one with only five rebounds in the game. Tyler Herro, Reid Travis and E.J. Montgomery chipped in 11 each.

Kentucky shot it better than the Gamecocks. They forced USC into five more turnovers, and they out-rebounded them by more than 20. In short, they dominated.

Kentucky picks up their ninth straight victory and will now turn their attention to a rematch with Mississippi State on Saturday. The game will be played in Starkville.
