KANSAS CITY, Mo. (LEX 18) – PJ Washington was barely able to sit down at a press conference before he was asked the question that all of Big Blue Nation is wondering.
When asked if he was going to be able to play, Washington told reporters that he was trying but his status was still “up in the air.”
Washington injured his ankle following the Cats’ loss to Tennessee in the SEC tournament. His status has been questionable during the NCAA tournament after he missed the first two games. He was on the sidelines in a hard cast, which has since been removed.
When asked by an Associated Press reporter if he would be able to practice, Washington coyly chirped, “I walked here.”
Shortly after the interview, Washington did do some light work at practice, including jogging around the court. Keep those fingers cross, BBN.
WATCH: We're only allowed to shoot the first 15 minutes of practice, but got to see PJ do some light work. What he did after we left is still up in the air, just like his status for Friday night. pic.twitter.com/KMYf61EWYH
