(LEX 18)– On “State of the Commonwealth” this week LEX 18 takes a look at each of the candidates before Tuesday’s primary election.

Besides Adam Edelen, Andy Beshear, and Rocky Adkins, another Democrat running in Tuesday’s Gubernatorial primary is Geoff Young.

Young is a well-known name in the Commonwealth as he has run for office several times in the past decade. Young says he is a strong supporter of labor unions, legalizing all forms of Cannabis, single-payer healthcare, and putting an end to corruption in state government.

“For far too long, we have had lobbyists dominating the general assembly, dominating state government and supporting narrow special interests against the interests of the people,” said Young.

Two more Republicans wanting to unseat Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin are Ike Lawrence and William Woods.

Woods is a businessman from Northern Kentucky who says he will push for a lean government, cuts to executive pay and non-essential programs.

Lawrence is an entrepreneur from Lexington. On his website, it says he is committed to repairing the pension system, cleaning out lakes and streams, bringing new jobs to the state, and that he is committed to fighting for the rights of all Kentuckians.
