Chances for good for a widespread frost or freeze overnight. The wind will relax and skies will clear, helping to push temperature down near freezing. A Freeze Warning is in effect area-wide through Saturday morning. Protect your plants and bring your pets indoors. Saturday will be a decent spring day. Highs will be closer to 60 degrees with increasing clouds.

We are focused on what's coming for Easter Sunday. It will be an active day for the eastern two-thirds of the country. The Plains and Midwest are bracing for winter weather. Meanwhile, this could be a significant severe weather event for the Deep South. The greatest threat will be across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama where strong, potentially long-track tornadoes and widespread wind damage are possible. Locally, there is the potential for some strong storms and heavy rain during the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and flash flooding look to be our top threats at this time.

Showers will end on Monday. The backside of this system will keep us cool next week. There are a couple more chances for a frost or freeze.
