Many spots recorded the first 80-degree day of 2020, making this the warmest day of the year so far. With all of this warmth and the gusty winds, you can sense something is coming. Conditions will remain quiet this evening. Then overnight a potent storm system will bring the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms. Locally, the greatest risk for severe weather will be west of I-65. Still all modes of severe weather are on the table for the Bluegrass including damaging straight-line winds, large hail, and isolated spin-ups. The storms should reach our western counties between 10 PM and 11 PM. The line will work eastward through the night. The threat will diminish before dawn.

Given the timing of these storms you will want to have a way to stay weather aware. Download the *free* LEX 18 StormTracker Weather app. Keep your phone on tonight so you can receive any weather alerts.
