It doesn't get any better than this weekend for early September. For those anxiously waiting the arrival for the fall, you'll have to wait a little while longer. A very summery pattern is already taking shape and will dominant our weather story for the week ahead. The Deep South and Gulf Coast have been experiencing extreme heat for the past several days. Now the ridge across the Southeast will pump heat and humidity northward. Our high temperatures will be some 10° to 15° above-normal. That means highs will climb into the 90s. The heat will spike on Tuesday with a near-record highs in the mid 90s. Oh yeah, it's going to be humid too.

Things will "cool down" into next weekend. A cold front will drop in as the ridge breaks down. Instead of highs in the 90s, we are anticipating temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible as the front crosses. This will be only of our only storm chances over the next eight days.
