LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington woman indicted nearly a year ago on charges related to a shooting death is due in court Friday.

Montash Loray Jackson is scheduled to make an appearance in Fayette County Court for a hearing.

Jackson is accused of firing shots that killed 19-year-old Jasmir Allen on July 29, 2018, in the 1700 block of Liberty Road.

Police say Jackson and Allen, who knew one another, were fighting when Jackson pulled out a gun and shot Allen in the upper body.

Allen was taken to an area hospital, where she later was pronounced dead from her wounds.

Jackson also is accused of firing several shots at witnesses in the area.

Jackson faces one count of second-degree manslaughter and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
