GREENSBORO, N.C. — Josh Teater made a good run at the FedEx Cup Playoffs but it appears he's come up a little short.

The former Henry Clay and Morehead St. golfer shot another six under park, 64 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship. He was -16 for the tournament which had him in a tie for 6th place. He really needed to finish alone in third or better to make the 125 man FedEx Cup playoffs.

Teater is projected to finish at 146 in the standings. It's not all bad news. Players finishing 126-150 in FedEx Cup points earn conditional status for 2019-20, which in a typical season means 12-20 tournament starts. Those who finish 126-200 head to the Korn Ferry Tour Playoffs, a three-tournament series that begins later this month.
