We are bracing for two of the hottest days of the year. (Lexington's hottest day of the year was on July 20th when the mercury climbed to 94°.) Strong, bright sunshine will heat things up quickly as high pressure gets planted directly over the Commonwealth. Highs today and tomorrow will climb into the mid 90s, while the heat index nears 100 degrees each of the next two afternoons. Sounds like a perfect pool day today!

The heat will cool off a touch through mid-week as storm chances ramp up. By cool off we mean drop highs back into the upper 80s. Thunderstorms will be mostly likely on Wednesday. Storms will wrap up on Thursday then it will turn even "cooler." We'll settle for the mid 80s on Friday, which after this heat will feel pretty good.
