CORBIN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police say that a child who was reported missing was found unresponsive. She has been pronounced dead.

The Times Tribune says that the child was found in a vehicle.

Kentucky State Police say that the Whitley County Sheriff's Office had been dispatched to a home on Leona Wyatt Road in reference to a missing child around 2:04 p.m. Deputies and Corbin Police officer's arrived on scene and conducted a search on the property.

KSP said that officers on scene found 2-year-old Aubrey Rose unresponsive.

CPR was performed on the child and she was transported to Baptist Health Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A preliminary autopsy said foul play was not expected and that the cause of death appeared to be consistent with hyperthermia.
