CORBIN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police say that a child who was reported missing was found unresponsive. She has been pronounced dead.
The Times Tribune says that the child was found in a vehicle.
Kentucky State Police say that the Whitley County Sheriff's Office had been dispatched to a home on Leona Wyatt Road in reference to a missing child around 2:04 p.m. Deputies and Corbin Police officer's arrived on scene and conducted a search on the property.
KSP said that officers on scene found 2-year-old Aubrey Rose unresponsive.
CPR was performed on the child and she was transported to Baptist Health Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A preliminary autopsy said foul play was not expected and that the cause of death appeared to be consistent with hyperthermia.
The Whitley County Coroner and Kentucky State Police detectives are investigating.
