It's time to head back to work and back to school. We'll see a pretty decent day to help get you back into the routine. Today's sunshine will stick around for another day. The week also begins feeling like January with highs in the 40s. It will "act" like January too. A low will quickly develop over Tennessee tomorrow. Clouds will increase and cold rain showers will spread northward late Monday night. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow showers closer to Tuesday morning. The morning commute could be a little tricky for some. Minor "slushy" accumulations are possible, especially south of I-64, as the swift low cuts through eastern Kentucky. Rain and snow showers will end during the afternoon, and temperatures will remain chilly.
The end of the week turns warmer and wetter. We are keeping an eye on the potential for another heavy rain event to develop and last through next weekend. A cold front will approach and stall over the region. Multiple waves of heavy rain and even thunderstorms are possible. Some of the heaviest rain from this event could fall across the Bluegrass. Flooding concerns may arise over the upcoming weekend.
