Driver hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crash on I-75 ramp in Lexington

The Lexington Fire Department reports that one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on the ramp from North Broadway to I-75 southbound Wednesday morning.

According to officials, they were dispatched around 4:19 a.m. on Wednesday for reports of a crash with entrapment.

When arriving on the scene, officials discovered that the driver had been removed from the vehicle by a bystander due to an engine compartment fire.

Officials say the driver was taken to the ER for their injuries.

Lexwrecks is reporting that the on-ramp from North Broadway to I-75 southbound is shut down Wednesday morning due to the investigation of a "serious collision."
